Today is International Women's Day.

Oxford's Women for Women International Society held an event called "Meet Me Under the Bridge."  We (literally) met under the Bridge of Sighs and they handed out flowers and let women speak or read stories and poems about amazing women that have affected them.  In over 400 other places all over the world, other women were also meeting on or under bridges and doing the same thing.

My favorite part about the gathering was the reminder that the president gave us: we have to remember to tell the women in our lives that they are incredible.  And even after all the pages upon pages of feminist literature that I've read while I've been here, I still thought: we should probably tell anyone who has effected us that they are incredible.

So, here is a little reminder of my own:
Tell people that they count, that they are worthwhile, and (if it's the truth) that you love them.  Then we won't need a Women for Women Society.  We can all just be People for People.
